I had dim sum this morning for the first time. I liked it!
Since my return from France, the scaffolding and draping outside my building have rendered my apartment cave-like. We're wasting loads of electricity on light and heat. We don't want to get S.A.D.
In retrospect, my emotional highs and lows aside, Paris was delightful. Maybe not the best vacation ever, but the city itself is fantastic. The night before leaving, my friend and I walked along the Champs Elyseés and stopped for dinner and wine, capped by a sugary shot of espresso, then more walking and photo taking, of things like this futuristic car at the Peugot showroom (click pic to see set):
Back in the U.S. (a three-hour layover in Detroit), I gradually acclimated to aspects of America that I hadn't missed. It was boisterous at the airport, CNN blaring in the waiting area, people laughing, shouting, talking loudly, nearly-non-stop pages over the loudspeaker. No escape.

I want one of these. it's a Graphire 6x8 Bluetooth Wacom tablet. I have an older Wacom, but the cord drives me nutters! And the shape of the full tablet makes it impossible to scootch it up next to my keyboard as much as I would like. This one seems to have less side area, thus allowing for a closer scootch, and Bluetooth means, "au revoir tangly wires! I said good day!"
