nature is #1

the true problem

Went camping with pals in Yosemite. Click the pic for a small set of photos; if you are my friend on Flickr, you can see the people shots. If not, maybe you should be my friend! As you can see, I will endure evil squirrels and nose-biting cold to play Scrabble and drink wine with you in the woods. I'm a good pal.

good times in Gotham

raised lettering

M & I went to New York City last weekend for our friend Robert Hardgrave's big solo show at Joshua Liner Gallery in Chelsea. We had a truly excellent trip. We ate a lot of good and new food, drank, played pool, hung out with old and new friends, walked around A LOT, took loads of pictures of street art and stickers and such, ooh, and we stayed at the Chelsea Hotel for two nights which was extra very good and old and beautiful. Who wrote this?

"Here's to you and here's to me. Friends may we always be. But, if by chance we disagree, Up yours! Here's to me!"

misheard lyrics

it's kind of an older song, mid-late 90s i guess, but i was just listening to "Half Closing Time" by Portishead, as i was putting away some groceries, and it's such a pretty song that i wanted to sing along but i was pretty sure that the lyrics weren't "through the times of lasting love, from paris stopped to things tried and test there" so i looked them up online. well, i got the first verse right, after that, i got only one word right, "dreams."

Half Time Closing by Portishead

In the days, the golden days,
When everybody knew what they wanted
It aint here today

Through the times of lasting love,
When parents talked of things tried and tested,
They dont feel the same.

Dreams and belief have gone,
Time, life itself goes on.

From beyond the shrinking skies,
Where money talks and leaves us hypnotized,
It dont pave the way.

Underneath the fading sun,
The silent sum of a businessman,
Has left us choking.

Dreams and belief have gone,
Time, life itself goes on.

In the days, the golden days,
When everybody knew what they wanted,
It aint here today

Dreams and belief have gone,
Time, life itself goes on.
